Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is a American TV personality who is a chef, and a former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond hair and an ebullient personality, explains how to prepare restaurant-style meals at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also studied Italy's culinary tradition and culture, and the surrounding landscape. While living in the New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied after earning an English diploma and Communications diploma in Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful learning experience for me. It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy the chef developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary traditions. It made a huge influence on her perception of food. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of children who are struggling. Burrell is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate where she has a mission to raise awareness for the condition of children with diabetes. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels the country to mentor others in her task. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has always said I feel so lucky to be able to share my true passion in life with others.
